Franklin High School’s Robotics Team, Rattle City Robotics have recently placed 2nd in their Great Eggscape competition at WPI, through the Savage Soccer program created for robotics teams in schools.

Each meeting consists of brainstorming and working on a robot that meets a certain objective, that each competition has.

The objectives of the Great Eggscape competition consisted of designing and building a radio, that would move autonomously and could defeat the other opponents.

The winner of the competition had to win all best two-out-of-three rounds in the elimination bracket.

The year, the team’s captains are seniors Nathan Shepard and Nevin Jestus and the team’s advisor is Ms. Taranto.

“Currently, we have a lot seniors and we are hoping to gain more freshmen and sophomores to carry on with the club,” adds Ms. Taranto.

They meet Tuesdays and Thursdays after school in room 223. Anyone with an interest in robotics or with varying levels of experience is welcome to join. Feel free to ask questions, and join. Follow on them on Twitter for updates here.
