Fiesta Friday

Devyn Forcina

Do you like quesadillas?

Do you like music and games?

If you do, join Spanish NHS on March 10, for their first Fiesta Friday event.

The party will take place directly after school in the cafeteria. Anyone can attend, as the event is not limited to those in the society or in Spanish classes. Rather, this is an opportunity for all to learn more about Spanish culture.

Spanish NHS, aka Horizontes: La Sociedad Honoria Hispanica; has taken part in many favorite events such as Zumba Day and Global Gathering.

Fiesta Friday is an all new experience. It is focused specifically on Spanish culture, and includes food and cultural activities.

Spanish NHS Vice President, Elana Chan, describes some activities at Fiesta Friday: “We plan on playing Loteria, a game similar to bingo, and creating crafts, such as papel picado and maracas. There will also be posters on display for people to learn more about unique traditions in Spanish-speaking countries and the importance of learning Spanish. We have a fun kahoot planned too!”

Yet another perk of attending the event will be the delicious foods available from many Spanish speaking countries. If you like unique and exciting snacks, be sure to attend!
