Disney fans, get ready for 2019. This year will be jam-packed with films for every movie lover, including classics that will bring a smile to everyone’s face. Here are Disney movies hitting the theaters in 2019.

 

Captain Marvel

Premiere Date: March 8, 2019

Disney-owned Marvel Comics is releasing Captain Marvel: a superhero movie that follows Carol Danvers, a U.S. fighter pilot who joins the Starforce and ends up caught up in a galactic battle between two alien worlds. Brie Larson stars as Carol Danvers along with Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, the future director of S.H.I.E.L.D. (trailer)

Dumbo

Premiere Date: March 29, 2019

Director Tim Burton takes a live-action approach on a Disney classic. Dumbo tells the story of a struggling circus who gets the help of two kids and a flying elephant to help draw in an audience, but they soon realize that there are dark secrets hiding behind the scenes. Dumbo boasts an all-star cast including stars like Eva Green, Colin Farrell, Danny DeVito, and Michael Keaton. (trailer)

Penguins

The latest from Disneynature, Penguins follows the life of an Adélie penguin named Steve as he navigates the icy Antarctic trying to find a partner, food, and a home before winter hits and the South Pole goes dark. (trailer)

Aladdin

Premiere Date: May 24, 2019

2019’s Aladdin has the same plot as it’s 1992 counterpart, except this live-action film has stars like Will Smith playing Genie and Naomi Scott as Jasmine, and will be sure to fill the shoes of its predecessor. When street rat Aladdin gets his choice of three wishes, he gets himself into a whirlwind of love, money, and power all alongside his monkey sidekick. (trailer)

Toy Story 4

Premiere Date: June 21, 2019

The third sequel in the iconic Toy Story franchise, Toy Story 4 follows everyone’s favorite toys on a road trip, except this time, a new “toy” named Forky joins in on the fun. John Lasseter continues his story with the help of Tom Hanks as Woody in a continuation of the classic story. (trailer)

Spider-Man: Far From Home

Premiere Date: July 5, 2019

Spider-Man Tom Holland returns as Peter Parker in the newest addition to the Marvel franchise. When Peter Parker and his friends go on a European vacation, villain Mysterio ruins the fun and Peter must save the day. (trailer)

The Lion King

Premiere Date: July 19, 2019

Disney is bringing back the classic film with a CGI remake starring Beyonce, Donald Glover, and James Earl Jones. Watch as young Simba tries to fill his father, King Mufasa’s shoes as his evil uncle Scar tries to stand in his way. (trailer)

Artemis Fowl

Premiere Date: August 9, 2019

Based on the novel by Eoin Colfer, Artemis Fowl follows the story of a 12-year old who captures a fairy with the hopes of bringing honor to his family with the ransom money. Starring Hong Chau and directed by Kenneth Branagh, this film adaptation is sure to be a hit. (trailer)

Frozen 2

Premiere Date: November 22, 2019
