Announcements 9.28.11

The Young Democrats will have their first meeting TODAY, Wednesday,September 28th after school in room D203. All are welcome!

 

Reminder to all students who signed up for the Distractology Program – You need to report to the Field House Parking Lot for your training session approximately 5 minutes before your scheduled training.  See Mrs. Cerce in G153 with any questions.
“The Class of 2015 class officers & representatives will have a mandatory meeting on Friday September 30th in D206 right after school!  Bring your fundraising ideas!”;
Ski Club is back! Sign ups are in room K-109 with Mr.Breeze everybody is welcome. Please stop by after school to get your packet of information.  

 

Attention all high school women….if you are interested in taking part in the Athena Science Challenge at Brown University, hosted by WiSE, Women in Science and Engineering, please attend a brief meeting on Monday, October 3rd @ 2:30 pm with Ms. Redding in F118.  We only need one more team member, so be sure to tell your friends!

 

Senior Bios are due September 30th to G150 or anyone in yearbook. Also, seniors should bring in baby pictures if you want yours in the yearbook! They can only take a limited amount and first come, first serve.
Senior pictures are due October 1st. Get them to Ms. Arena in G150 on time!

 

Attention all Peer Mentors….
There is a MANDATORY meeting AFTER school on Friday Sept 30th at 2:15 in the cafeteria…..All mentors must be present at this meeting.  If you have any questions please feel free to contact Mrs. Cerce or Mrs. Hess

Volunteers are needed for the Run for Bob 5k race on Saturday, Oct. 1st. Community service hours are available. See your health teacher or Mrs. Connolly for more information.
The Franklin Downtown Partnership is looking for some volunteers to help out at the Harvest Festival on Sunday, October 2 from 11am-4pm. Giving back to the partnership is very important, especially if your project is occurring in one of the local businesses. Please see Mrs. Yankee if you can volunteer.

 

Jazz Band Audition musicis now available on the bulletin board in the music room, H-146.  You must sign up for an audition time during the week of October 3rd. Please see Mrs. Rudsit in the Music Office with any questions.

 

Attention students!
Summer reading assessments will take place during a special “F” period scheduled for October 4th.  Please be sure to register your summer reading before this date.  You will be expected to turn in your project and give a brief description of your summer reading to your peers.  Details are on the school website.  Remember, summer reading results will be sent home with 1st term report cards.  Please be prepared for October 4th!

 

Attention: Senior Project students: Don’t forget about our Parent andStudent information night on October 11th at 5:30 in the tech center. See Mrs.Yankee with any questions.
Attention Seniors: The following college representatives will be visiting FHS this week:

Please remember to sign up no later than the day before the scheduled visit.    

 

        Ms. Pergola and Mr. DiBona will be in the library Mondays and Thursdays from 2:15 until 3:15 helping students become better writers. Sign up at the laptop circulation desk for an appointment.
 

 

Attention Juniors: The PSAT will be administered at Franklin High School on Saturday, October 15th. Registration will be the week of October 3rd. Guidance counselors will be going into history classes the last week in September to give information regarding the test and registration.

 

UPCOMING EVENTS:

 

A Cabaret is coming to FHS October 18th and 20th at 7:00 pm. in the Lecture Hall. Students’ tickets cost $5.00 and adults’ are $10.00.
