The Excitement of Prom

Prom is the one day out of the year that girls are “allowed” to go crazy over. Many have to worry about their hair, nails, make up, getting a date, and most importantly finding the “perfect dress”.

This day is a big deal for junior girls like myself because here at Franklin High School there is only a junior prom that is held.

Local senior Lauren Irvine told us her thoughts on the topic.

“Getting ready was probably the most exciting and stressful part of prom because you’re able to wear a dress that you’ll only get to wear maybe twice in your life, but you have a short time limit to get ready”, shared Irvine.

Not only is prom a big deal for many girls but it can get very pricey. May 9th is coming up fast and many girls do not have dresses yet. Prom will be held at the Sheraton in Norwood, MA.

The ticket itself is around a hundred dollars. In addition, students have to worry about the price for transportation and apparel as well.

“Between my dress, my hair, my nails, tanning, the limo, the ticket, and getting my eyebrows done probably cost me around a thousand dollars” shared Irvine.
