Club of the Week – Community Service Club

Lucy Hemingway

As a new school year begins, Pantherbook has decided to feature some of our school’s clubs in a new series called Club of the Week. This week we were able to interview Nikki Noorian who is the Vice President of the Community Service Club.

The Community Service Club (CSC) presents students with the chance to partake in a variety of different service opportunities. These events range from the Making Strides for Breast Cancer Walk to Salvation Army Kettlebell Ringing to Remapalooza.

Though there are some annual events already in place, the CSC welcomes students to bring their own ideas for community service projects. The club can also help Freshmen and Sophomores get their required community service hours.

“It is a club of people who genuinely want to do community service; they are not doing it for their college applications, they do it because they want to help out their community and surrounding communities,” Noorian said.

If you are interested in joining the Community Service Club, they meet every Friday immediately after school in the second floor lecture hall. To keep up to date with some new, interesting community service opportunities, you call follow the club on Twitter. If you have any additional questions regarding the club, you can contact Noorian and fellow officers or club advisors: Sophie Psilakis, Chris Chieng, Rebekah Redwine, Tabitha Whitmore, Ms. MacLean.
