If you’ve been on the cross country or track team or taken a video production class sometime during high school, chances are you know Mr. Bailey.

Mr. Bailey has been teaching video production at FHS for 15 years. He has simultaneously coached the boy’s cross country team for 14 years and has worked as an assistant coach on the spring track team for 16 years.

To some, it may seem like managing a coaching and teaching job all at once is quite the stressful burden, but he’s handled it for so long it’s just become a part of his life. “It can be stressful at times, but I’ve been doing it for so long it’s just become a part of me,” he said.

When asked which job he enjoys more, without hesitation, he would choose coaching. It is something that he can look forward to after a long day of teaching. “If I won the lottery I would still coach,” he says while explaining how coaching is one of his favorite things to do.

Unfortunately, Coach Bailey has never won coach of the year for cross country in the Hockomock League, but with the success of XC in the past few years, his dedication to coaching, and lots of talented freshmen on the team, it is only a matter of time before he wins the grand prize.. and we’re rooting for him.
