Lovato Inspires

Actress and singer Demi Lovato, recently performed at the Chicago Rosemont Theatre and asked her audience to say a prayer for all those dealing with substance abuse, eating disorders, self harm, and mood disorders. Back in 2010 she checked into the Timberline Knolls Rehabilitation Center because she was suffering from bulimia, depression, and self- injury. She had also been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and suffered from a nervous breakdown.

While in Illinois for her performance she visited the center and shared her past struggle with the current patients and encouraged them to keep fighting because she told them “life is beautiful and you are worthy of it.” The nineteen year old had spent last Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years at the rehab center and how important her fans were during this time. Their messages on her wall helped her through her tough situation.

Lovato revealed that her problems started with food at the age of eight and was also bullied in seventh grade which began the self mutilation of her wrists and led to depression. She has been a spokesperson for the Antibullying Organization PACER. It seems that Demi Lovato’s career is back on track, is very healthy, and a true inspiration to all young girls and teenagers.
