The names were released Thursday morning of all the nominated movies, TV shows, actors and actresses who will arrive to see who takes home the Golden Globe on January 15th. But for now since the winners won’t be announced for another month, who was nominated for each category?
Since many Franklin High students are fans of comedy movies, many the most popular movies of the year made the cut. For best Actor in a motion picture, comedy or musical, the list is as follows:
Jean Dujardin for the The Artist, Brendan Gleeson for the The Guard, Joseph Gordon-Levitt for 50/50, The most desirable Ryan Gosling was also nominated for Crazy, Stupid Love and finally Owen Wilson for Midnight in Paris.
The best actresses in the comedy or musical catergory was for some different movies, they included: Jodie Foster for Carnage, the hilarious Charlize Theron for Young Adult, SNL actress Kristen Wiig for Bridesmaids, Michelle Williams for My Week with Marilyn and the amazing Kate Winslet for Carnage.
But for the Best motion picture, comedy or musical, the movies included box office hit Bridesmaids, The Artist, Midnight in Paris, 50/50, and the critically acclaimed My Week With Marilyn.
Now on a darker note comes the Drama category. Many of you may have not seen this movies, but might know of the actors. Some of Hollywood’s hottest actors were nominated for this catergory: George Clooney for the The Descendants, Leonardo DiCaprio for J. Edgar, Michael Fassbender for Shame, Ryan Gosling for The Ides of March and of course, Brad Pitt for Moneyball.
Back to what makes us laugh on TV rather than movies, many of our favorites are nominated. For best TV show in the comedy category, Glee and Modern Family return to duke it out for the third year in a row. But new shows that were nominated were New Girl, Episodes, and Enlightened.
In the realm of comedy television series, the actors that were nominated were: Alec Baldwin for 30 Rock, David Duchovny for Californication, Johnny Galecki for The Big Bang Theory, Thomas Jane for Hung and Matt LeBlanc for Episodes.
The lovely and laughable ladies that were nominated in the same category are Tina Fey for 30 Rock, Amy Poehler for Parks and Recreation, Laura Linney for The Big C, Zooey Deschanel for New Girl and Laura Dern for Enlightened.
