As many of you might have seen lately on television, the strange commercial that stars not only famous actors such as Matt Damon, Scarlett Johansson and Thomas Haden Church, but zoo animals! Yeah we see those edited animals that they make talk in the morning, but this one is different.
We Bought a Zoo is based on the real-life story, and resulting book, by Benjamin Mee.
It’s about a journalist who loses his wife and decides to start over in the California countryside. Mee faces all kinds of challenges adapting to his new life. Freed from the city cage, he and his young family must learn to cope with loss, and care for other creatures.
So to incorporate the loving for care animals, and to not make mockeries of the animals by making them talk, Cameron Crowe has the actors take care of them. Hence why they’re in the zoo- Matt Damon and Scarlett Johansson help the animals survive and give them the life worth living.
