February 28th’s Academy Awards were a night to remember with stand-up comedian Chris Rock returning as the host.

Rock had his audience – both in Hollywood and at home – laughing with his controversial jokes inspired by the lack of diversity among nominees.

Despite the disagreement popularizing this year’s show, the event had a total of 34 million viewers, an 8 year low according to Deadline.com. The following are the Academy’s big winners:

Best Picture: “Spotlight”

Best Director:  Alejandro G. Iñárritu for “The Revenant”

Best Actress: Brie Larson for “Room”

Best Actor: Leonardo DiCaprio for “The Revenant”
