As COVID-19 social distancing and self quarantining continue, some of us may be going crazy, not able to go and do the things we’re used to.

Now is the time to relax, but when you’ve been cooped up in your house for weeks, and still can’t be with your friends or go places, how can you spend your time at home?

  • Learn to Draw

Drawing plays a big role in our cognitive development. It can help us think creatively and develop hand-eye coordination. It is a perfect way to express inner emotions and feelings without words. Following along to youtube videos on how to draw or even just doddles of whatever comes to mind can be a relaxing yet productive way to spend time while still staying at home.

  • Meditate or Yoga

Yoga can bring a positive change in mood and attitude, increased energy levels and the ability to focus better. Meditating can help decrease metabolism, lowers blood pressure, and improves heart rate, breathing. If you are unsure of how to meditate then try following this easy guided meditation for 15 min and notice if it makes a difference.

  • Go Outside

You can leave your homes in most cases, just practice social distancing. Doctors say fresh air and exercise are good for not only your physical health but also mental health. You can walk around your neighborhood or go jogging. One place you should avoid is a playground or any place which can hold groups of people. If a walk or jog seems risky then even sitting under the sun on the porch can help feel as if you have gone outside and not cooped up at home.

  • Cook or Bake 

Cooking and/or baking can be an easy yet occupying thing to do. If you have ingredients already at home try to bake or cook something you don’t know how to make. There are many sources such as blogs, articles, such as Allrecipes, and even youtube videos that give step by step instructions that are easy to follow.

Though being cooped up at home seems to have no end yet, there are many ways to keep your self productive while being active and having fun!!
