Summer may be ending, but fall brings plenty of fun activities to keep you busy. Here are the top ten activities to do this fall.

  1. Apple picking  

One of the best things about fall is getting to go apple picking. It’s a fun activity to do with family or friends and you can make desserts out of what you pick. Some apple picking spots near Franklin are the Fairmount Fruit Farm or the Big Apple.

 

  1. Jump in a pile of leaves

Cleaning up leaves is a lot of work but it can be made fun.  Jumping in leaves is the perfect way to unleash your inner child and it makes for perfect fall pictures.

 

  1. Haunted houses

For the people that love scary things, fall is the perfect time to unleash your inner scary. Haunted Hill in Cumberland, Rhode Island or Witches’ Wood in Beverly, MA are both affordable places near Franklin that you and your friends can visit.

 

  1. Corn maze

Getting lost in a corn maze is the perfect fall adventure.  It is a lot of fun to go with family and friends and you can even get in touch with your competitive side by having contests to see who can find their way out fastest.  Davis’ farmland Mega Maze in Sterling MA is the perfect place to go.

 

  1. Football games

Whether it’s a college, pro, or high school football game, there are plenty of teams out there to support. Come see the Franklin Panthers #restoretheroar at one of their games on Fridays.

 

  1. Carving pumpkins

Halloween is right around the corner, so it’s time to get ready for the holiday. Carving pumpkins is fun and makes a great decoration. You can even roast the seeds for a delicious snack.

 

  1. Go hiking

The weather in fall is crisp and clean. It’s the perfect time to go for a hike not only because of the weather but you will also be able to see the leaves changing color on the trees.  

 

  1. Make fall treats

Whether it be cute pumpkin cookies, apple pie, or candy corn cupcakes, fall is just a season waiting to be in delicious desserts! There is so many different treats that can be made and recipes everywhere.

 

  1. Movie marathon

Fall is the perfect time to snuggle up under a blanket and watch a movie. So make some popcorn and settle in for a movie marathon such as Harry Potter on a cool fall day.

 

  1. Go outside

Summer is over and that means the weather is no longer sweltering. However, it is not too cold out yet to stop enjoying the outdoors. Enjoy the last few weeks of good weather before the winter by going outside for walks or playing sports.
