Stand Up for Your Rights!!!

Every November voters go to the polls to cast their ballots. It’s a normal thing and we enjoy the lack of a school day. Yeah, that’s pretty awesome. But with all that time on our hands you can’t help but think about what the results of the election will be, right?

Wait, what? You don’t?

I find it surprising that every year I hear people complain about how wrong our society is and then come election day they “don’t want to waste my (their) time”. My time is very important to me too, I understand that. But what I don’t understand is, how you can go around complaining about what is wrong and how it is affecting you and not want to fix it. If your time is that valuable to you shouldn’t you want to do the exact opposite?

Maybe my logic is wrong. Maybe I should stop using common sense just like most people in our society.

If you are one of these people, do you feel like by not voting that you are giving the finger to Big Brother? I just don’t get it. Can someone fill me in? Anyone…? Bueller?

The way I see it is, if you don’t vote you are taking a backseat on your rights. Do you really want to let all these old people make the decisions for you? (Oh, and I’m not talking about congress.) We have senior citizens making up for the most voters out of all other ages. That’s embarrassing. Think about all the old and outdated ideas they will vote for. I’m shaking. Can’t you see? Oh wait…

If you aren’t voting because you don’t care about your rights, I understand that a little more. But still that’s selfish because what about all the other people that care about their rights?

Listen I’m just one man with one opinion. My opinion is the only one that makes sense to me just like yours is the only one that makes sense to you. That’s what makes us individuals.

You don’t have to think like me, but you do have to think!

Happy Voting!
