The sky is falling, the sky is falling!

That’s the update from NASA as they report that a dead NASA climate satellite will hit the earth today, Friday the 23rd of September. Apparently,North America is safe as the satellite continues to fall down to Earth. 22,000 pieces are reported to be coming from this satellite, a six- ton, piece falling to the Earth; the size of a bus.

Since the Space Age, no one has been injured from space debris. Jonathan McDowell of theHarvardSmithsonianCenterhas said, “You are more likely to be hit by lightning than to be hit by the satellite.” There is a 1 in 21 Trillion chance that a single person on Earth will be hit by the Satellite.

Twenty years ago, this satellite was sent from the earth to study the atmosphere. Now it is taking its plunging death down to earth, and the 22,000 pieces will disintegrate to twenty-six separate sections, weighing 1,200 pounds.
