Wisconsin police have released audio of the 911 call placed after the alleged stabbing of a 12-year-old girl by two young friends.

Police say the two girls were trying to prove the existence of a fictional creature named “Slenderman.”

Slenderman  is a fictional character that originated as an Internet Meme created by Something Awful forums user Eric Knudsen in 2009. It is depicted as resembling a thin, unnaturally tall man with a blank and usually featureless face, wearing a black suit.

The victim was found in the woods by bicyclist Greg Steinberg who called the Waukesha Police Department to report the discovery of the girl on the side of a road.

The victim was stabbed alleged 19 times in various parts of the body.

Two 12-year-old girls, identified in court documents as Morgan Geyser and Anissa Weier, were arrested for the victim’s stabbing. The two girls names are released due to the fact they are being tried as adults well the victims parents chose to stay anonymous.

Geyser and Weier (in order as shown above) were charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court on Monday with attempted first-degree intentional homicide. Their victim, who is also from Waukesha, is hospitalized in stable condition.
