Making a Quarantine Routine

Currently, the world is full of uncertainty, stress, and unprecedented events that are out of our grasp and quite frankly, very scary. It can be very easy to lose sight of positivity and optimism. However, time spent indoors provides endless opportunities to explore interests, hobbies, and additionally, a chance to pause and discover who you are.

One great outlet to stay busy and keep your mind alive is art. According to Art of the Streets, drawing, painting, and creating artwork boosts self-esteem and gives us a sense of accomplishment that may seem tough to grasp during the quarantine. Pick up a coloring book and your old colored pencils, turn on your favorite music or a podcast, and take a break from our hectic world.

Also, sticking to a routine will surely benefit your well-being. According to Headspace, routines reduce anxiety and stress. Writing a to-do list including a set wake-up and chores for the day is a fantastic coping strategy throughout the lazy, unstructured days during the quarantine.

Lastly, exercise is a fantastic outlet to let out stress in a beneficial way. There are countless workout tutorials on YouTube from personal trainers that can walk you through an effective routine. Also, taking a walk or a run to get fresh air is a tremendous way to get out of your house and feel less isolated.

Before we know it, we will all be enjoying our normal lives once again. Be hopeful, don’t lose sight of who you are, and stay busy!
