Announcements for Monday, September 19, 2011

~Attention senior girls: There will be an informational meeting for Junior Miss 2012 TODAY, Monday, September 19th after school in the Tech Center.

The first Robotics Team sign-ups will be today after school in room K109.

Attention poets and story tellers: Mirage, Franklin High’s literary magazine, will meet today after school in room B209.

Attention all young women interested in the sciences:  WISE is holding the Athena Science Challenge at Brown University in November.  Teams of women will compete in the four major disciplines of science, and they will have the opportunity to tour state of the art lab facilities, meet distinguished scientists, and attend a panel discussion on career and education paths in science.  If you are interested being part of this event, come to a brief meeting on TODAY, Monday, September 19th, at 2:15, in F118 with Ms. Redding.

There will be a brief Academic Decathlon meeting for returning members and those who are interested in learning more about the team.  The meeting will take place after school TOMORROW, Tues in D-129.

Attention all NHS members:
There will be a meeting Tuesday, September 20th in Ms B.’s room right after school.  Please see any officers if you have any questions.

Auditions for the play One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest will be held tomorrow, Tuesday, at 2:30 in the Lecture Hall. Call backs will be Thursday at 2:30 in the Lecture Hall.

The first SADD meeting of the year will be held Tuesday after school in room L121. New members are welcome!

Attention all Students who applied for Senior Project: There will be a mandatory meeting in the cafeteria on Thursday, September 22 during G period at 10 am. You MUST attend this meeting.
See Mrs. Yankee with any questions.

Students who need to borrow a calculator from the school for their math classes must request one by Friday, 9/23.  The form can be found via the school’s webpage.  At this time there are no more available calculators but we are doing our best to get some more.  Students who don’t fill out a form by Friday, 9/23 will most certainly be out of luck.

Attention all students interested in politics: The Teenage Republican’s Club is looking for new members! The first meeting will be held Wednesday, September 21st at 2:15 in room D210. All are welcome!

Attention Juniors: The PSAT will be administered at Franklin High School on Saturday, October 15th. Registration will be the week of October 3rd. Guidance counselors will be going into history classes the last week in September to give information regarding the test and registration.

The Franklin Downtown Partnership is looking for some volunteers to help out at the Harvest Festival on Sunday, October 2 from 11am-4pm. Giving back to the partnership is very important, especially if your project is occurring in one of the local businesses. Please see Mrs. Yankee if you can volunteer.

The boys and girls cross country teams are still accepting new-comers. Practices meet in the field house everyday after school at 2:45. Please see Mr. Bailey in K122 if you have questions or would like to join.

Any student who was cut from a fall sport and paid the athletic fee by check may pick up their check after school this week in the athletic director’s office. If you paid on line a refund check will be mailed to you from the business office.

Senior Bios are due September 30th to G150 or anyone in yearbook. Also, seniors should bring in baby pictures if you want yours in the yearbook! They can only take a limited amount and first come, first serve.
Senior pictures are due October 1st. Get them to Ms. Arena in G150 on time!
