Senior Skip Day

A tradition that has been repeated thousands of times across our country in hundreds of different high schools and by millions of seniors. No one knows when the idea was first thought of but the concept is simple; skip a day of school because you’re a senior.

In Franklin High, the tradition has been going strong for as long as I’ve been here but it has always been plagued by the administration’s harsh warnings and amazing intelligence about when the event is to take place.

Mr. Light (Principal) said about the day that until the seniors are finished, they are obligated to be in school. In addition he said that forming a pattern of behavior in which students regularly attend school will help you in the future with college and future jobs. In the end seniors get out of school before everyone else anyway and skipping one day isn’t worth missing out on an event scheduled during senior week.
