First Franklin Lax Double-Header Ever

Double header on Thursday versus KP. Girls varsity is at 5 and Boys varsity is at 7. Cost to get in is $5.00. Make sure to come out and support your school!

Boys Lacrosse

The captains for boys varsity lacrosse include Sean Brady, Jarret Schmauder and Sam Scoba

Last year’s standings were 18-4 and outright 15-1 in the hockomock league.

The starters include: Mike Jednak, Greg Kane, and Ross Dean on attack and Jarret Schmauder, Sam Scoba, and Dean Tanner on midfield. Sean Brady is the starting goalie.

We interviewed Sean Brady on this topic.

How do you feel about the KP game?

“I’m excited and hope we win”

Are you planning on fighting more people?

“No, but I can’t make any promises. But I’ve learned from last time”


The coach for boys varsity is Verrochi. We interviewed him about this upcoming game

Are you nervous, and are any good players missing?:

“No, excited. I’m always up for challenging game. Cam Kuney would be on starting defense but he’s out on injury.”

How are you prepping?

“KP throws a zone at us, so we have to set up a different formation to counter-act the zone.”

“Boys lax is off to a good start 2-0. Mansfield we won 15-7 and we beat Sharon 10-6.

Girls Lacrosse

This year, the starters are  Gina Velluti, Taylor Kale, Kailyn Burke, Jen Heiser, Heather Grove, Ellie Getchell, Sarah Doherty, Kaylee Reardon, Kaitlyn Spillane, Christine Hurley and Kelly Vail.

Injured players are Lindsay with a foot injurt, Haley with a back issue but will be back next week, Eileen out for KP game.

Last year we tied at KP and lost at home. The girls haven’t beat KP in 8-9 years. Overall record was 14-7.

We interviewed Mr. Schmidt, the coach of the girls lacrosse team.

Are you nervous?

“No”

How are you prepping?

“We didn’t prep differently, but there’s things that they do that we need to be ready for. We beat Sharon 1-0 last game. The game from Mansfield was postponed.”

He said “We’d like for everyone to come support us because this is the first double header ever, boys at 7 girls at 5”.

We also interviewed Heather Grove, and she said “I’m excited because we never beat KP and we tied last year, I think we’re gonna win. We’ve been looking forward to it all year. If we win it will be one for the history books”.
