The Panthers kicked off their season with a shutout of Milford Friday night at Pisini Field.  The Franklin defense smothered Milford yielding only 4 first down all night.  Seniors Mike McNeice, Mike Gill, and Kevin Brunelli stuffed the run game, while Steve Santangelo shut down the pass game with a key interception in the second half.

Offensively, the Panthers overcame a slow start that resulted in only a Rhett Davis filed goal in the first half, to eventually control the ball for much of the second half.  Senior quarterback Will Richards mixed the run and the pass and kept the Milford defense guessing.  Senior running back Billy Barrera was called on to replaced the injured Jake Simonelli and ran for over 60 yards and one touchdown.  The play of the game was a 38 yard bomb from Richards to Santangelo that gave Franklin a 10-0 lead.
