Girls Lacrosse Tournament Approaching

After becoming Hockomock League champs, the girls varsity lacrosse team is moving on to the state tournament in hopes of winning a state title. With graduation approaching, the strong and agile seniors need to step up their game if they hope to make this memorable season last. After their big win against Walpole a few days ago the team looks stronger than ever filled with confidence to enter the tournament. Finishing off the highly competitive Walpole team 13 to 3, the girls will stride into tournament with their heads held high.

At 6:00 Tuesday night number 5 Franklin will be up against number 12 New Bedford on FHS home turf.

Coach Schmidt of the lady panthers feels confident when talking about the challenges ahead. He feels New Bedford will be “an opponent they need to be ready to play against” and that “come game time they (his girls) will be ready for the challenge”. After being asked how he feels the seniors on the team will react and play during their fun filled senior week, he felt as though nothing could bring the team down. The “games during senior week will be tough” but Coach Schmidt has faith that come game time they will be focused since this means so much to them.
