It took them 21 years, but the Bruins are back in the Stanley Cup
May 31, 2011
After a nail-biting 1-0 victory over the Tampa bay Lightning in game 7 on Friday, the Boston Bruins are making their first Stanley Cup appearance since 1990.
This feat has given hope back to Boston Bruins fans after the breakdown that they had last season in the playoffs. They had lost to the Philadelphia Flyers in game 7 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals after having a 3-0 lead in the series.
One of the key players the Bruins have to thank for this victory is their 37-year old goal tender Tim Thomas. Thomas stopped everything that they Lightning threw at him, and is ready to take on the Canucks.
The Boston Bruins will travel to Vancouver for the first two games of the Stanley Cup series against the Canucks starting Wednesday. The Bruins are going to have to fight hard for the victory, as the Canucks will be looking for the their first Stanley Cup title.
