A Dissapointing Tie

The Franklin High Soccer team was looking good having gone 2-1 in their first three games. Going 2-1 at home was a great way to start of the season; however, the boys played their first away game at Oliver Ames on Monday.

Oliver Ames who has been unscored on and undefeated in their first 3 games were looking hot. The Franklin boys came out firing and put the pressure on the Tigers. With an early goal by senior captain Reed Turgeon the Panthers hoped to upset the might OA team.

As the game pushed on and entered half time, the Panthers were controlling the game and keeping the Tiger forwards out of their box.

When the blow of the whistle signaled the start of the second half, the Tigers came out riled and ready to go. Hoping to solidify and save their fourth win of the season, the OA players came out and put the pressure on. The Panthers were put on their heels and looked like they were panicking trying to save the upset.

In the 39th minute of the second half, the captain of the OA Tigers scored sending the Panthers home with a disappointing tie. The defense looked sloppy at the end and let the Tiger through, allowing him to have a shot on the sophomore goalkeeper.

The now 2-1-1 Panthers play on Wednesday and Friday at home this week.
