Varsity Volleyball remains undefeated after beating Medway

October 4th featured another win for Franklin Varsity Volleyball, after beating Medway after playing four matches. The scores of the four matches were as follows: 25-14, 25-23, 22-25, 25-22. The senior captain Alicia Wilde earned nine kills, four blacks & two aces. The two highest after Wilde with the amount of kills were junior Alicia Kutil and senior Alison Mariano.

The game, which was an out of league game, was Franklin’s 10th win. They are currently undefeated with their next game against Canton on Thursday the 6th, playing in Canton at 5pm.

This was the first time for the varsity volleyball team to play against Medway, but Alicia Kutil tells, “We knew they were going to be extremely tough.” When the girls of Medway came in, the Franklin girls realized that two of their middles had towered over their entire team. Kutil tells that, “We played great the first two matches but then when it came to the third match, we struggled, making stupid mistakes we usually don’t make.”

The team had known that Medway would come back after the third match stronger, so they pulled through and won their fourth match. Medway is known to be a great team and Alicia tells that, “It’s a great feeling to beat such a talented and skilled team.” Medway sure brought their game and it helped Franklin prepare more for the game against Canton.
