Girls JV Soccer Beat Out KP

September 9th was a sad day for the Franklin Girls Junior Varsity Soccer team when they lost against King Philip High School while playing away. But the girls came back Tuesday October 10th, when beating a team that that could be considered their toughest competition.

Both teams came in with one thing on their mind: winning. The game started off slow without either team scoring. This proved that both were here to win and they were not letting the other team score without a fight. Two of the juniors on the team, Angie Stoddard and Kasey Lynch, knew that they weren’t going to let KP win because they wanted it really bad. The whole team was united knowing that one of their goals from the beginning of the season was to beat KP. Kasey tells that, “We were completely a different team on Tuesday than when we first played them.” Angie managed to play a great game until hurting herself towards the end saying, “The reason I hurt myself was because I was trying to hard and I knew I had to give it my all.”

Erin Harrington, a freshman, was the only player to score a goal towards the end of the game. At first she didn’t even realize that she scored a goal, and then a huge smile grew on the girls face. With the one goal it brought the score to 1-0 with Franklin winning the game.
