Washington Capitals Fire Bruce Boudreau

The Washington Capitals announced on Monday that head coach Bruce Boudreau will no longer be their coach. This came as a shock to many people around the league. The Capitals were off to a red hot start in the beginning of the season being undefeated through the first 7 games. As of late they have not been producing to their level of play with only a 3-6-1 record in their last 10 games, with a 12-10-1 record overall. There were rumors that Capitals star forward Alex Ovechkin and Coach Bruce Boudreau got into heated arguments because Ovechkin had not been put out on the ice during certain situations in which he would usually play, which supposedly lead to Boudreau being fired. Both Ovechkin and Boudreau deny these rumors. Ovechkin has not been producing to the best of his ability with only 8 goals in 23 games. The Capitals have replaced Boudreau with former Capitals captain Dale Hunter. Dale Hunter has been a coach in the OHL with the London Knights for 11 seasons. Hunter played in the NHL for 19 seasons but has never coached an NHL team. In his debut as coach against the St. Louis Blues he lost 2-1.
