Girl’s Hockey Shines Their First Game

Last night Franklin’s Girls Hockey team rolled into Bridgewater for their first game and swept fans and coaches away with a 7-1 win.

“Our team’s core is mainly freshman and sophomores, we have 8 juniors and no seniors. We are small but we work hard and get it done” – Sophomore Alex Mitchel.

The girls kept the win by playing outstanding offense, Captain Kaitlyn Spillane took home a hat trick.

Freshman Shannon Doherty walked away with her first high school goal and 2 penalties. The pint size freshman argues “The penalties were fixed”.

Goalie Alison Burke played an outstanding first game, letting in only one goal. This is Burke’s first hockey season ever, basing most of her goaling experience off of playing JV field hockey.

The team is excited about the win but is aware that they will have more difficult teams to come in the future. For now Franklin High School’ Girls hockey team is looking good, and expecting a great season.
