The Franklin Boys Lacrosse is just a week away until their 2014 season is underway.
The boys had their first two captains practices this past week, on Tuesday and Thursday, where I caught up with third year Varsity starter, Junior Michael Sullivan on this years expectations,
“Well I mean, it’s the same thing pretty much every year, win Hock (the Hockomock league), make playoffs and go win a state ship (Championship).”
Sullivan also added that it is a must to beat Mansfield and Foxboro, just a few of their Hockomock rivals.
Franklin was bounced from the playoffs last year in the South quarter-finals by the top seeded Lincoln Sudbury at a score of 14-6.
The Panthers were huge underdogs but managed to be winning at half, Sullivan saying that it was the best half they had played all year,
“Me personally, I take that loss and translate it into something positive. Obviously you always want to come away with the W but when you lose to a great team like that, it gives you high hopes for next season.”
Tryouts are Monday, March 17th and the boys can’t wait for that day to come.
