The FHS Girls Hockey Team has made history as they end their season during the playoffs.

Their last regular season game ended with a score of 10-3, with Franklin beating Central Catholic and advancing them to payoffs for the first time ever. The key to their success this year was good teamwork.

“This year we understood that we wouldn’t get far if we worked individually. There’s 6 people on the ice for a reason and we need to use all of them to be successful. As for any sport, every game can be won no matter what the stats predict if you work as a team”, says Katelyn Pokorny, FHS Junior and Girl’s Hockey Captain.

The playoff game was on March 1st, against Reading. Unfortunately, Franklin lost with a score of 6-0.

“Reading was state champs last year and their goalie was really good but we played as a team and went down fighting”, Pokorny shares.

What comes next?

After playoffs, the girls hope to start preparing for next season already.

“We are excited about the direction the team is heading in. We want to continue the progress and grow as a team next year as well”, Pokorny says.

Congratulations to the team for making history this season!
