The Boston Bruins beat the Dallas Stars in their first regular-season game of the year. The score was 2-1 in favor of the Bruins. Franklin High School student John O’Brien says that one of the reasons the Bruins won was because “they didn’t get as many penalties as the Stars.” He says that this “helped keep them on offense.”

John also says that the Bruins improved on their first preseason game by having “fewer penalty minutes in their first regular-season game than they did in their first preseason game.”

John says that the Bruins did well, but they could improve by getting more shots on goal.

The Boston Bruins and the Dallas Stars played on Thursday, October 3, 2019. The two teams played their first game of the season together in the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.

The Bruins won their next game with a score of 1-0 which they played against the Arizona Coyotes on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at the Gila River Arena in Glendale, Arizona.
