One of the few things that ties humanity together is our drive to make the world a better place. As members of the Franklin High School community, we contribute to this common goal through our annual participation in events such as Light Up A Life and the FHS bottle and can drive. But are there more ways that us panthers can give back to our community?

Community Service Club is an after school club that strives towards meeting their goal of serving the Franklin community and making the world a better place. Throughout the school year, the club volunteers at events including, but not excluding, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer in Boston, Remapalooza, 5Ks, and decorating Downtown Franklin.

When asked why students should join the benevolent club, Community Service Club officer Rebekah Redwine shared, “Students should join […] because we are a club that helps students fulfill their service hours, find fun ways to help the community, and give back to those around us. Our events are always fun and include a wide array activities that cater to the likings of almost everyone who joins the club.”

Community Service Club’s hard work has paid off as well, as multiple organizations and charities reach out to the officers, asking them to send their hard-working volunteers to make events run smoother. This is just one speck of proof towards the positive impact the club has on the community.

For those who love to help others and yearn to make the world a better place, Community Service Club always welcomes new (and returning) volunteers! The first club meeting is this Friday, September 15, in the Lecture Hall after school. If you are interested but unable to make the meeting, no need to worry! Reach out to one of the officers (Rebekah Redwine, Meg Sandham, Tabitha Whitmore, Allison Rizoli, and Avery Knous) and they’ll make sure you become involved!
