Senior Year: Looking Forward, Looking Back

Emily Vinson

Seniors:  what are you most looking forward to this year?

As seniors start their last year of high school at FHS, they may be looking forward to the senior perks, including:  eating lunch in the library, getting to leave early and arrive late at the end of the year, senior week activities, not making up snow days, and graduation.

 It may seem like seniors were just freshmen, struggling to find their classrooms, scrambling to find a seat in the cafeteria at lunch, and balancing the work load of new classes.  Now the seniors are filling out the common app and writing college essays, or making other plans for their future.

Seniors Elizabeth Clark and Jenna Rodrick note that they will miss Franklin when they leave for college;

“I will miss the Franklin community and playing sports with people I’ve been with since Kindergarten” says Clark.

“I’ll miss seeing my friends every day.” added Rodrick

What would you tell your freshman self?

Clark advises freshmen to work hard freshman year so your GPA is not negatively affected by it, as many people think freshman year does not count as much as future years.

Then the seniors come full circle.  After graduation when many enter college, they become a freshman again. No matter if you are a freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior, enjoy your time at FHS.  It goes by fast!

What are you most looking forward to this year as a senior?
