Town Council is hopeful for FHS Renovation vote next fall

The Franklin High School Renovation plan is moving forward with the support of the Town Council. Town Council Vice President Stephen Whalen announced that the town would not seek an override this year with the hopes of passing an renovation “debt exclusion” next year. A debt exclusion would be a vote by citizens that authorizes the town to borrow funds to renovate the high school. Franklin property rates would temporarily go up until the loan is paid off.

This may mean some tough budget cuts this year that may impact Franklin High next school year. More details can be found in the article linked below from the Milford Daily News.
