As the school year draws to a close, FHS is saying goodbye to several wonderful teachers.

One of them is freshman English teacher Mrs. Banks, who has been a member of the faculty since 2014.

Mrs. Banks will be relocating to North Carolina after this year, where she has a new teaching job in Huntersville.

“I’m scared to leave what I know,” said Mrs. Banks when asked how she felt about the move. “And I love watching my freshmen graduate, so I’m sad I won’t be able to see all of you move through the years. But I’m excited to start somewhere new, and slightly warmer.”

Despite her excitement for the warmer weather, she will miss the snow days that New England storms bring during the winter.

When asked her favorite part of teaching in Franklin, Mrs. Banks responded, “Definitely the kids. When everything is so difficult about this job, just being in the room with you guys gives me so much life… and when you succeed in something, it makes my heart soar.”

Seeing such an amazing teacher go will certainly not make our hearts soar, but we wish Mrs. Banks the best in North Carolina! Thank you for such amazing years at FHS.
