Peer leaders arrived at Gillette Stadium on Tuesday, November 23, for their Team Rival Peer Leadership Conference!

The students were excited to begin the Conference, dedicated to making smart decisions. They started their day by entering the Cross Insurance Pavilion and Business Center with other students from the Norfolk District schools. (Bella DeCrescenzo)

 

Peer Leaders received Team Rival official lanyards, showing that each student earned five hours of community service for their time spent at the Conference. (Bella DeCrescenzo)

 

The Peer Leaders were welcomed to the Team Rival Conference by a representative of the Robert Kraft Foundation! (Bella DeCrescenzo)

 

Peer Leaders were introduced to the Community Resource Dogs. These animals have been trained to become gentle, caring dogs who offer comfort and safety to community members. (Bella DeCrescenzo)

 

Maverick is a year old Community Resource Dog who spends his time in classrooms comforting children and providing joy to the members of his community. (Bella DeCrescenzo)

 

Halfway through their day, students got ready to retrieve their provided lunch, consisting of pizza, salad, and cookies! (Bella DeCrescenzo)

 

Sam Berns’ parents explained the lasting impact of their son who recently lost his battle with Progeria. They showed letters from elementary schoolers who discussed how Sam inspired them in their everyday lives. (Bella DeCrescenzo)

 

Peer Leaders returned to Franklin High School after an emotional and rewarding day discussing safe decisions and role model behavior with their fellow Norfolk District Peer Leaders. (Bella DeCrescenzo)
