“The Devil Inside” breaks records, but did it satisfy viewers?

“The Devil Inside” was finally released this past weekend, and it came with an outstanding $34.5 million debut. The movie, that takes the lead of movies like “Paranormal Activity” and “The Blair Witch Project“, came in at number 1 at the box office. So with all the earnings, did it prove to be a great movie?

The plot is intriguing, a young woman going to Italy to see her mother who is in now in a psych ward for killing three clergy members in 1989. Maria Rossi, who is the mother, killed these men after having an exorcism on her.

The movie may have broken records with the biggest opening in January since 2008’s “Cloverfield“, but most moviegoers were not impressed.

Junior Tyler Molloy tells franklinpanthers.us,

“I went into the movie hoping that it would terrify me. It seemed scarier than Paranormal Activity in the previews. But the previews were actually scarier then the movie. It just seems that there wasn’t any creativity in the movie.”

The movie also found to be popular on twitter, with a twitter account @Gotninelives, telling,

#bigshoutout to The Devil Inside. You know you’re the worst movie ever made.”

With this horror movie, could it be the last of the small budget home-made looking movies? Well you still have Paranormal Activity 4, debuting later this year.
