Frozen Star Performing at Oscars

The star from “Frozen”, Idina Menzel, is singing the nominated for best original song, “Let It Go” at the Oscars next month. “Let it Go” is actually from “Frozen”, which is nominated for best animated film.

“Frozen” has been one of Disney’s most popular film since “The Lion King” came out in 1994. “Frozen” has earned Disney over $900 million at the worldwide box offices and sold over 1 million copies of the “Frozen” soundtrack according to CBS. Disney also has talked about making “Frozen” into a Broadway musical.

Menzel has been a very successful actress. She has was in both the film and the Broadway performance of “Rent” , she played Elphaba in “Wicked”,  she was in “Enchanted” “Glee” and lastly, was the voice of Elsa in “Frozen”.

Sophomore, Carolyn Fenerty says: “She is a great singer and “Let it Go” is a fantastic song, so I’m really excited to watch her sing it.”

If you may not know, the 86th annual Academy Awards, hosted by the famous, Ellen DeGeneres, is airing March 2nd on ABC.
