This year the Franklin Footlighters and FHS students produced Shrek as this year’s Spring Musical. The musical went on Friday, March 13th and Saturday, March 14th at 7 PM in the FHS auditorium.

This will be the first time that the musical will be showcased in the FHS auditorium. Senior Footlighter Trea Lavery says that she is very excited for the show to be in the brand new auditorium, saying that “the technology is great and it allows us to use much cooler sets.” The only unnerving part about the change of scene is that the tech crew has to figure all the advanced technology as they go along.

This week is tech week for the musical, and it is a much needed extra bout of practice for the cast and crew this year. They have missed a lot of practices this year due to the numerous amounts of snow days, but students claim “it all comes together during tech week.”

The musical is a lively performance of the classic Disney parody of other old time fairy tales. With Grant Spinella as Shrek, Maya Deschenes as Fiona, Calvin Castaneda as Donkey, and Daniel Schratz as Lord Farquaad, assisted by a talented ensemble and music director Mr. Sansoni and director Ms. Lonati, the musical was a huge success.
