Duke Punches its Ticket to the Final Four

For years, the Blue Devils have been seen as an overrated team that always come up short in the tournament. This year was not the case. Duke has fought its way through the South regional bracket to make it to this year’s Final Four in Indianapolis. The Blue Devils, along with West Virginia, Michigan State, and Butler, will fight for the glory of raising the hardware Monday night.

Duke, currently being lead by Nolan Smith, will face a tough West Virginia team Saturday night at 8:45. Smith has been clutch for Duke this tournament, and is the biggest reason why they are still in the tournament. Nolan plays for his father, Derek Smith, who passed away in 1996 of heart problems. Derek, a former NBA player and Louisville Cardinal, was Nolan’s closest and biggest idol. It only seems fitting for Nolan Smith and Duke to win this year’s title as he raises the trophy above his head in Indianapolis, just like his father did 30 years ago….
