He Shoots, He Scores

Last year the Franklin boys Lacrosse team managed to take the Hockomock league title but when they got to the playoffs, they suffered a loss to Walpole. After last season the team lost several seniors including Kyle Peterson and Peter Gordon leading the attack and Eric Peterson controlling the defensive end. All together the team lost thirteen seniors, three of which were captains, after their title season.

This year the team hopes to repeat their Hockomock title under the leadership of senior captains Sam Scoba, Sean Brady, Jarret Schmauder, and leading defense-man. With the return of Scoba coming off a previous ankle injury and Dean Tanner also returning from injury the teams ready to go and start the season. Coach,Lou Verrochi, is excited for the teams success at the start of the season.

“With key players Sammy and Deano, I think the team will have a strong bond and expectations to win” says Coach Verrochi. From a players perspective, Senior Captain Dean Tanner believes if the team comes together in a brotherly manner they will be unstoppable. “Me, along with other senior captains Sean Brady, Sam Scoba, and Jarret Schmauder, will ensure that the team will be at the top of their game after a weeks practice for the games to come” Tanner says. The crowd and parents I am sure are anxious to see the show put on by the boys Franklin Lacrosse team this season.
