Baseball Field’s Makeover

The baseball field at Franklin High School will undergo an extreme makeover which will include a new drain system at second base. The field will be unavailable for the Panthers through all of April, forcing them to have all their games this month on the road.

The field is very vulnerable to rain, is easily damaged, and then made unplayable. Even the smallest amount of rain creates another Beaver Pond around the deep second base area that will stay for numerous days.

The field situation presents a major problem which prevents the Varisty team from practicing on their home field and forces the JV and Freshman to find new fields as well. Some days, the teams have to practice inside even when it is a bright and sunny day that all can enjoy.

Hopefully the grounds crew can quickly fix this problem and get the team back on the field, ready for an eventful season.
