Franklin Varsity Cheer is heading down to Florida!

As of their last fall competition, the Franklin Varsity Cheer team has qualified for Nationals. They were able to get the set amount of points they needed to qualify for Nationals, which takes place March 14-18 in Universal Studios.

At Nationals, teams all over the country attend, with a majority of teams coming from New York, New Jersey, and Massachusetts. Cheer teams compete for two days, are judged and scored, and the overall winner is announced. The winner receives new jackets as a prize for their accomplishments, and wins the national title in cheerleading.

Franklin is arriving in style on a plane, accompanied by their team coaches.  

Ashley, one of Franklin Varsity’s back spots on the team, says that they don’t have many big competitors going into the competition, so she thinks they can pull through and win.

“Last time we went to nationals, we bombed it and still came first, so I think we’ll win,” said Ashley. 

As practices continue for the team, it seems like they are on the track to success!
