ATTENTION CLASS OF 2011. FINAL EXAMS? DO SENIOR PROJECT!

Senior Project is an opportunity to work hands on in any field of your choice, instead of going to school 4th term!

What to know about senior project:

-May 14th is the deadline to apply

-You don’t need to have a site or mentor yet, just an idea of what you want to do.

-4th Term work instead of school

-3rd term senior year you take a Senior Project class with Mrs. O’Neil where you write your research paper on the field of your choice.

-15 minute presentation in front of a mix of five people from the school and community.

When talking about the presentation Mrs. D’Angelo said,

“People always say at the end of it ‘Why was I so scared people were so nice’ they try to put students at ease, a lot of people feel the presentation was the highlight and they felt really supported”.

Examples of sites previously used in senior project:

– Crime scene services with the state police, brain trauma at hospital, cosmotology at hair mania, James P. McGovern campaign, elementary schools, wedding planning at Lakeview Pavillion.

They will help you find the internship right for you!

Packets with more information are available in guidance, and there is an informational meeting on Thursday May 6 in Mrs. O’Neil’s room G152 right after school at 2:05. If you have any other questions feel free to ask Mrs. O’Neil or Mrs. D’Angelo.
