he Class of 2020 Student Council has been hard at work in order to make this year perfect.

With homecoming just around the corner, the officers have been meeting weekly to discuss their ideas for floats. However, while doing so, they ran into a problem.

Since the construction of the new turf has been taking longer than expected, the homecoming parade will not be able to be held around the field.

The student government found out that driving cars on the new track would damage it. Despite this, they are currently looking for a solution in order to display the class floats and continue to hold this year’s parade.

The three returning members of the council – President Danny Harrington, Vice President Chorr-Kin Chin, Secretary Adam Gendreau, and new Treasurer, Breanna Atwood, want to make changes for the new year.

They have been given the option to hold the Class of 2020’s prom in a different location than it normally is held – Lombardo’s – although they are still deciding on a venue.

They state that to make these adjustments, they are going to need to make a lot more money. Students – make sure you are ready to participate and help out with upcoming fundraising events!

Additionally, in order to make Franklin High School a better and safer environment, they have given a say to the student body, by taking in their problems and concerns and discussing them with school administrators.

Atwood states that she enjoys being a part of the student council for the first time, and that she and her fellow officers are looking forward to another great year.
