Are You Interested in Becoming a Peer Leader?

Peer Leadership is now accepting applications! They are due April 30, 2021.

Do you want to make a change in your community? What about being more involved in FHS? Are you a natural leader? If the answer to these questions is “yes” then you should apply to become a member of Peer Leadership! 

FHS Peer Leadership is currently accepting applications for the 2021-2022 school year for current Freshmen and Sophomores. The application can be found here, or on twitter (follow @FHSPeerLeaders). All applications are due Friday, 4/30. However, if you have extenuating circumstances and need an extension, please reach out to us as soon as possible; we do not penalize applicants for missing the deadline, as long as they communicate it to us beforehand. While application process is anonymous, you may be selected for an interview later on. Led by Mrs.Hess and Mrs.Briggs, this club is responsible for promoting peace throughout the school, organizing community outreach events, and highlighting student leaders. It is important to note that if you become a Peer Leader, you are held to a substance-free standard. Additionally, Peer Leaders usually meet on Mondays, every other week; it is expected that members attend most meetings. Panther Pride Night: Peer Leaders participate in Panther Pride night for incoming freshmen by giving tours, informations sessions, and speaking with students and their families about activities at FHS.

Peer Leaders at the Santa Foundation in Franklin, at the conclusion of the Light Up a Life project

Light Up a Life: Light up a Life is a holiday monetary donation collection, along with purchasing of gifts for the Santa Foundation in Franklin to provide holiday gifts for those less fortunate during the holiday season.

Peace Takes Practice: Peace Takes Practice is an annual leadership conference held at Dean College for Peer Leaders and students who are considered leaders among their peers. This conference focuses on promoting peace and well being within the community, and focuses on topics such as substance abuse and being a leader in your community.

Red Cross Blood Drives: Peer Leaders hosts two blood drives annually for FHS students, working closely with the American Red Cross to put on this event in the FHS gymnasium. Students and teachers are able to sign up to donate blood during a school day.
