Social Distancing: How You’re Helping!

During this difficult time, many people feel scared or worried. However, if we keep ourselves informed and follow the instructions given to us, we can be out of quarantine as soon as possible! For starters, it is important to take social distancing seriously. We can all go a couple of weeks without seeing our friends physically!

By distancing yourself from others, you are actively stopping the spread of the virus. COVID-19 is a respiratory disease that spreads through human contact. By going out with your friends, you are putting yourself and others at risk.

However, you don’t have to give up your social life entirely. There are plenty of alternatives you can do at home with your friends (virtually) that won’t take away the fun you normally have, Instead of having a movie night together, you can pick a movie to watch and discuss it on video chat after. You can also create a server on various virtual games to play together, and set up zoom calls with all of your friends to stay in touch during this lonely time.

Most importantly, you should understand how you are helping by choosing to stay home. The virus spreads through human contact. By isolating yourself, you are preventing yourself from contracting the virus from others as well as passing it on to others. Even if you show no symptoms, it is possible that you are a carrier.

If you ever feel down in these next few weeks, just know that you are saving lives by staying home. Your actions are a major step towards flattening the curve so our lives can go back to normal as soon as possible.
